Chris 
Gauthier

Bio: 

Chris has always had a passion for all things sports and recreation and has gotten into volleyball
the past few years as his girls have started playing in school and with the Vipers. With his experience
in coaching minor hockey in the past, he is looking forward to bringing the U13 girls team together this
year. He will be focusing on skill development, communication and working together as a team. This
past fall he was able to help coach the CCHS junior high JV Hawks and was proud to see them take
the silver medal at league playoffs. He is looking forward to watching the girls continue to grow and
improve this club season!

Hailey
Dietrich

Bio:

Hailey is a passionate volleyball player and now coach from Vulcan, Alberta, with 3 years
of experience in the competitive side of the sport. Two of those years she played club
volleyball , where she gained valuable skills and insights into the game. Although she is
taking a break from playing this year to recover from ACL surgery, Hailey is seizing the
opportunity to give back to the volleyball community by coaching the U13 vipers volleyball
team. She is excited to help her players grow, develop their skills, and foster a love for the game.
With her experience and enthusiasm, Hailey is dedicated to creating a supportive and positive
environment where her team can thrive both on and off the court.

Mya
Gauthier

Bio:

Mya has been a part of the vipers organization for the last two years and is playing on the U15 girls viper team
this season. Mya has taken the opportunity to help coach the U13 team this season to give back and gain
valuable coaching experience. Mya started playing volleyball with the stars program, continued on to a
year with the rampage grassroots volleyball program and then started playing for the CCHS Hawks and
the Vipers Volleyball club in grade 7. She is looking forward to helping the girls learn new schools, improve
their teamwork and their communication skills this season.

Jenn
Oilfield

Bio: 

Jenn completed her first volleyball coaching course back in 2002,  since then,  she has coached various junior girls
volleyball teams in southern Alberta. She enjoys playing volleyball and wants to share her knowledge and joy of
the sport with others. She knows the value that team sport can bring to developing individual skills, and
the importance of building relationships among players. She had great coaches and would like to
"pay-it-forward" by helping young athletes pursue their love for sport.

Samantha
Schneider

Bio:

Samantha (Sami) Schneider has grown up in Vulcan and was surrounded by volleyball from a very
young age. Her passion for all sports comes from helping around practices, and attending tournaments
and games as a child. Throughout school, she was a dedicated athlete, playing volleyball, basketball,
soccer, rugby, curling and many other sports. After following her love of sports to the U of A and playing
on the Augustana soccer team, she returned back to Vulcan, where she has coached many sports and taught
advanced swimming courses. Through these experiences, she strongly believes in multi-sport athletes and
cross training in the off seasons. She has been a dedicated volleyball coach with 12 years of experience
at the Club level and 9 years at a highschool level. Sami also spent many years volunteering with the stars
volleyball program for grades 3-6. She has coached a wide variety of players from U12 to U18, both boys and
girls teams. Whether working with beginners or advanced players, Sami strives to unlock the ultimate potential
in every athlete. Sami has a strong belief that team relationships are what make a great season. Partnered with
good mental health, a willingness to learn and dedication is the recipe for a great team!

Channing
Schneider

Bio:  

Volleyball has been his top passion.  With almost  25 years' experience at  the high school level,  starting with
coaching the boys' team and then shifting to girls' team 8 years ago. He also has coached club volleyball for
12 years with the Viper Volleyball Club, coaching both boys' and girls' age groups from U12 to U18. He has been
active with Alberta Volleyball,  sitting on many sub committees helping to improve volleyball in Alberta where
he can. He has achieved many certifications in volleyball, volleyball officiating, physical literacy, athlete mental
health & wellness and sport leadership. Channing's love of sports shows by watching him coach the youth and
seeing all the time he has spent with the athletes. Through coaching he has helped with the life lessons that
youth achieve.

Colleen
Carey

Bio:

After years of competing and participating as a multi-sport athlete through out her youth, she took her
passion for sport and completed a Bachelor of Physical Education from the UofA and during that time
became a certified coach in Figure Skating, Volleyball and Soccer. She worked in amateur sport for over
20 years before she made a career switch to Financial Advisor entrepreneur but has kept herself involved
in the sporting world through volunteering, coaching and refereeing. Over the last 10 years, Colleen has
coached 7 years in the public school system, and this will be her 6th year coaching a club team, 5 of which
have been with Vulcan Vipers Volleyball Club. Colleen's passion for sport is why she continues to coach
volleyball in hopes of spreading the love of physical activity and all the character building lessons that
sport can help young athletes become the best versions of themselves on and off the court.

Josh 
Cookson

Bio:

Josh's passion for volleyball ignited the moment he first stepped onto the court. A former high
school libero, his love for the game has only grown stronger over the years. With 4 years of
coaching experience at the high school level and a growing passion for club volleyball, Josh
brings a dedicated and enthusiastic approach to player development. He believes in fostering
a positive and supportive environment where athletes can not only improve their skills but
also grow as individuals. Josh's coaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of a strong
mental game, drawing on his background in psychology to help players develop the mental
fortitude needed to succeed. When not on the volleyball court, you can find Josh immersed
in his other passion: music. This love of music informs his coaching style, emphasizing rhythm,
timing, and the flow of the game. Josh is excited to share his knowledge and contribute to the
success of the players and team.
